      what is shipshare?

      ShipShare was designed to provide a low-cost approach to ship items short or long distances. Perhaps you want to send a mattress, or a stroller, or a bike across the country or city but do not want to hire a moving company. Maybe you have a sweet couch waiting for you at Ikea and you want a cheap delivery option. That’s where we come in!

      We link you with local road-trippers and truck-owners that have a little extra space. This provides a way for the Driver to subsidize the cost of their trip and make a little extra cash, and for the Sender to ship/receive their item at a low cost.

      Q: How much does it cost?
      A:  That will vary based on how much you’re shipping and how far you’re going. You will negotiate the cost with the Driver, once you two are connected. However, it will always be less than traditional shipping.

      Q: Can you ship or transport items locally?
      A: Of course! In the form above, just make note that you can service “Halifax, NS”, for example. You may be the perfect ship-mate for that local Ikea pick-up.
